The Western Central Regional Police Command has arrested a man at Aponteng Krom for unlawfully possessing a locally manufactured pistol and live ammunition.
According to police sources, Yahaya was spotted on Wednesday, May 29, 2025, with a locally manufactured pistol. Upon interrogation, he failed to provide any legal documentation or reason for carrying the weapon.
A search on him revealed one locally made pistol and two live cartridges, which were immediately retrieved by officers at the scene.
Residents of the area say they were alarmed to see a weapon in the community, adding that such arrests are crucial in curbing rising incidents of armed robbery and violence.
The suspect is currently in police custody assisting with investigations and is expected to be arraigned before court soon.
