A young Nigerian woman has accused her employer of inserting pepper into her private part at Wasa Asikuma in the Amenfi East Municipality of the Western Region.
The victim, identified as Ivy Blessing, told officials that her employer punished her after she failed to bring in the amount of money expected from her work as a sex worker.
According to reports, the woman who brought Ivy and others from Nigeria to Ghana had demanded that each of them bring her one thousand cedis every day from their clients.
When Ivy reportedly refused to meet the target, the woman became angry and allegedly assaulted her, forcing pepper into her vagina as punishment.
An immigration officer who learned of the incident intervened and rescued Ivy from the house. She has since been taken to Accra for medical attention and further assistance.
Authorities in charge are said to be investigating the incident.
