Former Member of Parliament for Okaikwei North, Fuseini Issah, has raised concerns over John Mahama’s consistency on education funding, citing contradictory stances on Free Senior High School (Free SHS) policy and university fees.
Making an appearance on Good Morning Ghana on Metro TV, the NPP faithful highlighted Mahama’s previous skepticism about free SHS, only to now promise tuition-free education for first-year university students.
“He once said he wouldn’t implement free SHS based on a ‘desperate politician’s whimsical promise.’ Now, he’s pledging to waive fees for level 100 students. Where’s the consistency?” Issah questioned.
Former president and flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress John Dramani Mahama’s announcement to absorb level 100 fees in public universities from 2025/2026 has sparked debate.
While some welcome the move, others doubt his sincerity.
