We’ll consider petition to establish Sisala South Constituency – Mahama

Presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Dramani Mahama has acknowledged the unique challenges faced by residents of the Sisala South area, particularly its remoteness from the district capital, Tumu.

Recognizing the need for improved governance and development, John Mahama urged chiefs from the Sisala South area to take proactive steps toward the creation of a dedicated district.

“I’ve heard your request,” John Dramani Mahama stated. “I know that the district is a very big district, and the Sisala South area is quite remote. We have conducted a population census, and the next government will have the opportunity to re-demarcate the districts and constituencies.”, he added.

To facilitate this change, community leaders were encouraged to draft a petition addressed to the next President, to be submitted through the Minister of Local Government.

“When the time comes for re-demarcation, we want to ensure that we can create the Sisala South district, bringing development closer to your doorsteps,” John Mahama emphasized.

This initiative aims to empower local communities by improving access to resources and governance, ultimately fostering greater development in the Sisala South area. Community leaders are urged to unite in this effort to enhance the region’s prospects for growth and progress.
