The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus Glover, has assured the people of the region of his commitment to improving security in the area.
According to him, the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) is working closely with the Security Agencies to ensure that the region is safe and secure for all.
The Regional Minister made this known during the first meeting of the Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council for the year 2024, held on July 18, 2024.
He revealed that the RCC has already started distributing streetlights to the various Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) to fix them at vantage points in the various communities and streets to improve security at night.
“We are also following up vehemently with the Highways Authority and other agencies to get most of the defunct traffic lights fixed,” he added.
The Regional Minister also charged the MMDAs to take keen interest in the ecologically sensitive zones in their areas to promote sustainable development.
