Robert Coleman, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Wembley Sports Construction LTD, expressed his excitement after being nominated for the inaugural Metro Sports Awards 8 in 8. This event is designed to recognize and honor outstanding sports figures who have made significant contributions to the sports community over the past eight years.
Coleman is among 18 personalities shortlisted for the Metro Sports Awards 8 in 8, with eight individuals set to be celebrated for their exceptional contributions to sports during this period.
In response to the nomination, Coleman praised Metro TV for the initiative: “I think it is a solid and very laudable initiative that people who are doing well are recognized. On that basis, I say thumbs up to Metro Sports. A lot of people watch Metro Sports in recent times, and therefore, for you to come up with this initiative, it will certainly mean that a lot of people are going to recognize it.”
“That’s hard work at play, and on that basis, they also try very hard to ensure that whatever they are doing, they do it well. So, thumbs up to Metro Sports. I think it is a solid initiative, and I endorse it fully.”
Coleman also congratulated all the nominees and shared his excitement about being nominated: “I saw those who have been nominated, and these are solid personalities. These are people who have endured themselves in their respective fields. When you’re among people like Randy Abbey and Co., certainly, you know that these are people who have tried to brighten the corner that they belong to.”
“So, let me applaud all of them and say that they all deserve it. But when I saw my name, I said to myself, ‘Wow, it’s like whatever I have been doing, Metro TV and Metro Sports are watching, and on that basis, you have decided to nominate me.’”
“So, I am extremely humbled. I am extremely grateful, and I thank you for nominating me. I believe that the best person will win that particular award—the Metro Sports Awards, inspired by Ignite Media,” he added.

The other nominees for the awards include Abdul Karim Zito, Coach of Dreams FC and former Coach of the Black Satellites; Dr. Ben Asante, President of the Ghana Hockey Federation and CEO of Ghana Gas; Dr. Kwaku Ofosu Asare, Chairman of the African Games LOC; Alexander Ababio, former CEO of Bofoakwa and President of Debibi United; Charles Osei Assibey, President of Ghana Arm Wrestling; and Dr. Richard Nsenkyire, President of FC Samartex 1996.
