A presidential staffer of the ruling National Democratic Congress, NDC, Lawyer Beatrice Annan, says the John Mahama government has not organised any kenkey and waakye party to celebrate economic gains, stressing that the administration remains focused on rebuilding the economy.
Speaking during a discussion marking President John Mahama’s one year in office, Mrs Annan said the NDC has chosen to concentrate on its core mandate rather than celebrate the economic gains with a party like the NPP did.
According to her, unlike the previous New Patriotic Party, NPP, administration, which she said often celebrated minor achievements, the current government is committed to implementing its economic recovery plans for the benefit of Ghanaians.
Mrs Annan explained that the government believes the country’s economic challenges require hard work, discipline and consistency, not public celebration.
“We have not held kenkey and waakye party to celebrate the economy recovery like others will do,” she said during the Good Morning Ghana programme hosted by Moro Awudu on Metro TV
She added that the Mahama administration remains resolute in delivering meaningful economic progress and will allow its results to speak for themselves rather than engaging in what she described as premature celebrations.
