The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is seeking clarification from the Electoral Commission (EC) on the minimum number of voters required to form a polling station.
Dr. Rashid Tanko-Computer, Deputy Director of Elections and IT of the NDC, expressed concerns on Metro TV’s News Beat, stating that the law, specifically CI 127, does not specify a threshold.
“Show us which part of the law indicates the minimum threshold of a polling station, number of voters they will form a polling station,” he told Annie Afua Ampofo.
“There is nothing like that,” he exclaimed.
“They are using their own administrative to decide something that you and I don’t know,” Dr. Tanko-Computer emphasized.
Meanwhile, the Electoral Commission is pushing forward with preparations for the December 7 general elections.
In a letter to political parties, EC Deputy Chairman for Operations Samuel Tettey announced that ballot paper transportation to regions will commence today, November 14.
