Accra is set to host a sizzling showdown of flavours this Saturday, December 20, as the Metro TV Jollof Festival brings together the best chefs from Ghana, Nigeria, Côte d’Ivoire, Sierra Leone, and Senegal to compete for the ultimate bragging rights: who prepares the best jollof rice.
The festival, taking place from 10:00 AM at Metro TV’s premises at North Ridge, promises a full day of food, culture, and entertainment.
With the bold theme “Watch Out Africa!”, the event combines live cooking competitions, tastings, exhibitions, cultural performances, music performances, giveaways, and surprise free food for lucky attendees.

Organized by Cook Africa and supported by partners including Original TV, Original 91.9 FM, DStv (Channel 277), and Boo Aserti, the festival celebrates Ghanaian creativity, local food production, and the spirit of community. It is also a platform for chefs, food vendors, influencers, and local brands to showcase their talents and products to an eager audience.
More than just a culinary event, the Metro TV Jollof Festival encourages connection through food, turning strangers into friends over a shared love of Africa’s most popular dish. Attendees are invited to come hungry, ready, and prepared for a memorable day of flavour, music, and fun.
