Wizkid live concert attendees will receive a full refund of their tickets

Wizkid did not show up at his debut Ghana concert on December 10 at the Accra Sports Stadium despite advertising to grace the event.

Information regarding his absence despite a contractual agreement with event organisers is unknown.

But in a statement on Sunday, Live Hub entertainment, the organisers said the Afrobeats star, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, known by the stage name Wizkid breached a contractual agreement for failing to show up at the concert.

Live Hub entertainment assured patrons of a full refund of fees.

“Dear LiveHub Nation, Wizkid breached his contractual obligation last night. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused. We will issue FULL refunds to all who paid for tickets. Please send your barcode to thelivehubinfo@gmail.com,” the statement noted.

Otunba Daniels, a member of Wizkid’s camp, has blamed the organisers for the musician’s absence on stage.

On Sunday, he said during a Twitter live session hosted by content creator Kwadwo Sheldon that various incidents occurred behind closed doors, prompting the artiste’s management to decide not to allow him to perform.

Otunba Daniels stated that the decision was made to protect Wizkid’s international brand.

“Wizkid will not deliberately disrespect his fans. The organisers are to be blamed for whatever happened since they were not ready to make some changes. A lot happened behind the scenes that the management will officially communicate.

“However, promoters must learn to do the right things and ensure the right structures are in place for such concerts. If you are doing a party and your house is not in order and I don’t want to sit at where everyone will see me but at the back, it is not my duty to explain to them why I did that,” he said.

Wizkid’s management is yet to respond to the matter officially.

The numerous patrons and fans of the Afrobeats star who thronged the stadium last night for the concert were disappointed and harshly criticised the musician for failing to show up on stage

Speaking to Metro TV’s Dessy Fayden on the night, a fan had some harsh words for Wizkid, describing the Afrobeats star as ‘wicked’ for failing to honour his part of the contract for failing to show up and entertain music lovers in the wake of the present economic predicament.

According to him, his actions could only be branded callous and nothing else.
