Police in the Ashanti Region are investigating the death of an 18-year-old girl who was allegedly stabbed by another young woman during a fight at Ahwerewam near Mankranso.
The suspect, identified as 20-year-old Maame Adwoa, is said to have stabbed Maame Akua in the neck with a pair of scissors after a heated argument turned violent on November 10, 2025.
According to reports, the altercation began when Akua confronted Adwoa for allegedly insulting her mother. The argument escalated, and Adwoa reportedly slapped Akua before pulling scissors from her bag and attacking her. Akua was pronounced dead after the incident.
The suspect has since been arrested, and the body of the deceased has been taken to Bechem Hospital. Police say investigations are ongoing to determine what led to the confrontation.
