The vice President Prof. Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang has re-iterated government commitment towards the establishment Women’s Development Bank.
Speaking at the annual general meeting of the Greater Accra Market Association, the vice president stressed that deliberate steps are being taken to ensure the bank is well structured to serve its intended purpose.
The Greater Accra Markets Association is a key player in the Ghanaian market ecosystem, focusing on the welfare of its members and the promotion of a reliable and effective business environment.

The association aims to strengthen collaborations with the agricultural sector to revitalize Ghana’s markets and create sustainable jobs.
Speaking at its annual celebration, President for the Greater Accra Market Association, Mercy Naa Afrowa Needjan, commended government in its handling of the economy, especially with stabilizations ofcedi against the dollar.
She, however, added that the reluctance of importers to reduce prices is affecting members and consumers.
Vice President Prof. Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang, in her address, called on the market leaders to support authorities in the cleanliness of the various markets. She added that the proposed women’s development bank is on course and going through necessary procedures progressively.
Meanwhile, the Accra Metropolitan Assembly also handed over a refurbished bus to the Greater Accra Markets Association to aid its activities. The bus which belongs to the association has been under repairs for the past five years.
