World Cup 2026: Ghana UN Mission Confirms Ticket Allocations Still Pending

The Permanent Mission of Ghana to the United Nations has confirmed that it has not yet received official ticket allocations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The announcement, issued from New York by Nuong Faalong, Head of Information and Public Affairs, comes amid growing inquiries from Ghanaians and members of the diaspora across the United States.

The surge in public interest follows recent comments by President John Dramani Mahama during his diplomatic visit to the United Kingdom, where he addressed questions about World Cup tournament tickets.

In response to the heavy volume of calls, the Mission clarified that it is working closely with government authorities in Accra to resolve the issue. Officials reassured the public that specific ticket distribution details will be shared as soon as they are available.

While the UN Mission in New York awaits its official batch, other diplomatic channels have reportedly begun implementing their ticketing programs, indicating that distribution processes are moving forward in other regions.
