The Overlord of Gonjaland, Yagbonwura Bi-kunuto Jewu Soale, has banned the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Samuel Abu Jinapor, over his alleged interference in traditional matters.
This follows a protest against Jinapor by some chiefs and people of the Gonjaland on Sunday, July 21, 2024.
The protest, held in the principal streets of Damango, the regional capital, saw the chiefs and people calling on the minister, who is also the Member of Parliament for the area to respect their traditional authority and stop meddling in the affairs of the kingdom.
According to them, they will no longer tolerate any form of insubordination from the minister.
Metro TV reached out to the Lands and Natural Resources Minister for comment.
