Yendi MP cuts sod for construction of extra modern health facility for Sunsong community

Member of Parliament (MP) for Yendi Constituency, Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama, has cut the sod for work to begin on the construction of a health facility in Sunsong in the Yendi constituency of the Northern Region.

Mr. Aliu Mahama performed the ceremony alongside Dr. Daniel McKorley, the Chief Executive Officer of McDan Group of Companies.

Getting access to proper health care is still a challenge to many communities in Ghana, most especially the Northern part of the country.

A typical example is Sunsong, a community in the Yendi Constituency of the Northern Region where people have to travel several miles before accessing health care services.

The Member of Parliament for the area, Alhaji Faruk Aliu Mahama, has cut sod for the construction of a health Center at Sunsong which will serve many communities in the Yendi Constituency.

The lawmaker, during the event, said he’s an unhappy man seeing pregnant women walk many miles to get maternity services and has therefore promised to get the project delivered within 2 – 3 months.

The facility comes with a nurse bungalow in fulfillment of, Dr. Daniel McKorley, CEO of McDan Group of Companies who’s a good friend of the MP for Yendi’s promise to build nurses’ accommodation and other amenities that will be needed by the facility.

Chief of Sunsong, Shaani Mohammed Awal could not hide his joy but to thank Farouk Aliu Mahama for having Sunsong and its environs in his heart. He said residents of Sunsong will always be grateful to Faruk Aliu Mahama.

Prior to the event, Faruk Aliu Mahama and Dr. Daniel Markole popularly known as McDan, paid a courtesy call on the king of Dagbon, Ya-Naa Abukari II
