The Member of Parliament for Weija-Gbawe and Second Deputy Minority Whip, Hon. Jerry Ahmed Shaib, has expressed disappointment over the absence of Dr. Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings in President Mahama’s list of ministerial appointments.
Speaking on Starr FM with Bola Ray, Hon. Shaib acknowledged the efforts of the President in fulfilling key promises, crediting the Minority’s constructive pressure in Parliament for keeping the government on its toes.
However, he pointed out that one major gap is the failure to recognize the Klottey-Korle MP, Dr. Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings, with a leadership role in government.
“I’m surprised and honestly disappointed that Dr. Zanetor hasn’t been given a ministerial appointment,” he said.
“She is not only the daughter of the founding father of our great party, but she has also proven herself to be diligent, dedicated, and deeply committed to Parliamentary work.”
According to Hon. Shaib, the President’s delay in filling vacant ministerial positions has become a source of concern, especially when capable individuals like Dr. Zanetor remain overlooked.
He urged President Mahama to reconsider and give her a well-deserved ministerial role.
In the same interview, Hon. Shaib praised the leadership qualities of Effutu MP and Minority Leader, Hon. Alexander Afenyo-Markin, describing him as strategic, decisive, and a strong team player.
“I’ll rate him 9.2 out of 10,” he noted, applauding Afenyo-Markin’s mentorship style and ability to unite members across the aisle.
He dismissed perceptions of arrogance often associated with the Minority Leader, calling him “a hardworking and religious man who inspires others through action.”
