Zanetor Rawlings retains Klottey Korle seat

Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings has garnered 1,194 votes to claim victory in the National Democratic Congress’ parliamentary primary in the Klottey Korle Constituency.

The victory means Dr. Zenator is the NDC’s candidate for the 2024 elections.

She defeated her close contender, Naakai Lamptey Addy with one thousand votes.

Also, the other aspirant John Nii Coleman secured 336 votes.

Earlier, Dr. Zenator while speaking at the voting grounds said she will retain her position as the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s candidate for the 2024 elections with or without the influence of her late father.

She noted that her team has been working hard for the constituency and it is evident in how the people consistently vote for her in the general elections.

“My father wasn’t here in 2020 but I won the general election. You can only speak to the data and the data shows that in 2016 I beat the NPP candidate by a margin of over 4000 and in 2020 that appreciated to over 8000…that speaks to a lot,” she said.

“It also speaks to something positive in terms of the way people have voted for me. And I think in some ways it speaks to the work that I have been able to put in and I pray for the opportunity to do more,” she said.
