10 Nigerians arrested for kidnapping chief’s daughter

Some ten Nigerian nationals have been arrested by the Kasoa Ofaakor District Police Command for allegedly kidnapping a 17-year-old girl at Papase in the Awutu Senya District of the Central Region.

According to reports, the victim, Priscilla Abeka, who is currently exhibiting signs of psychological trauma was kidnapped by the suspects at around 4 pm on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at Justab, a suburb of Papase.

She has also began to exhibit signs of psychological problems.

Father of the victim who doubles as chief of Gomoa Fawomanye, Nana Odiasempa Sekyi told Metro News that he suspected the Nigerian nationals to be behind the sudden missing of her daughter and confronted them.

But there was a fierce resistance from the end of the suspects and gunfires even exchanged between them and a search team that was constituted by some locals.

The clash resulted to the injury of some members of the search party.

A police team that was dispatched earlier to respond to the situation could not have a successful operation until the intervention of a reinforcement team from the Central East Regional command.

Priscilla was successfully rescued.

The Chief suspects that the arrested persons had the intention of using his daughter for rituals and is calling on police to ensure that the suspects face the full rigors of the law.

Residents of the area are petrified as a result of the development and asking for the enhancement of security measures in the area.
