Aflao border security beefed up ahead of 2024 election

Security agencies at the Aflao Border in the Ketu South Municipality of the Volta Region have assured that they have taken necessary measures to ensure the safety of the border post and prevent any disruptions to peace during and after the December 7, 2024 general election.

Assistant Commissioner Joseph Allan, Aflao Sector Commander of the Custom Division of Ghana Revenue Authority, told the media that his outfit is on high alert and will take action against anyone breaking the laws.

He emphasized the need for citizens to partner with security agencies to protect and safeguard the borders for peace in the country.

Assistant Commissioner Frederick Baah Duodu, Aflao Sector Commander of Ghana Immigration Service, stressed the importance of citizens using approved routes for their business activities.

The security agencies cautioned residents living around the borders to be mindful of their security and not aid foreigners through unapproved routes into the country.

They also urged citizens to collaborate with them to combat illegal entry into the country.
