Assin Central NDC parliamentary candidate vows to contest withdrawal of candidacy

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) 2024 parliamentary candidate for Assin Central, Nurein Shiabu Migyimah, has vowed to appeal the decision to withdraw his candidacy for the 2024 elections.

This move comes after Migyimah was removed from the race by the NDC’s Regional Functional Executive Committee (R-FEC) following a preliminary investigation into reports of “immoral acts and anti-party conduct” against him.

Migyimah’s withdrawal was announced in a statement signed by Gabriel Nii Kommey Adams, Regional Secretary of the NDC in the Central Region.

The statement also announced Migyimah’s suspension from the party for six months and referral to the Regional Disciplinary Committee for adjudication.

His party membership has also been suspended until the final determination of his case.

However, speaking to Metro TV in an interview he noted that he would appeal the decision.

“I’ll appeal the decision,” Migyimah said briefly, without providing further details.
