Businesswoman Angela List refutes allegations in Spy News article

Businesswoman Angela List has refuted claims by Spy News Agency (SNA) and republished by Opera News, describing the accusations as “baseless” and “defamatory”.

In a rejoinder copied to Metrotvonline.com, the businesswoman noted that the said article was not only replete with “unsubstantiated, defamatory, and fraudulent” allegations against her, but has caused her “significant damage to my reputation”.

The article in reference, titled “Unveiling the Deception and Corruption of Ghanaian Businesswoman Angela List,” which was published by Spy News Agency on June 14, 2024, is said to have detailed litany of allegations against Angela List, ranging from engaging in deceit, receiving preferential treatment from Liberian government to capitalizing on political connections for personal benefits among many others.

But the businesswoman has unequivocally denied these allegations and expressed disappointment over what she called false and malicious claims made by the Spy News article.

“I categorically and fervently refute each and every allegation presented therein. This article is replete with unsubstantiated information that has severely impacted my reputation and standing.”

Referencing Article 162(6) of the Ghana’s 1992 Constitution, Angela lList is demanding that Spy News Agency and Opera News publish an article to retract with the same prominence and circulation as the original publication to rectify the damage caused.

“These allegations have not only tarnished my professional reputation, but they have also deeply wounded me on a personal level”

“I have dedicated my career to building successful businesses and contributing to the economic growth of Ghana. I am deeply committed to ethical and transparent practices, and I will not allow these baseless allegations to undermine my integrity,” Ms. List added.

She has called on both Spy News Agency and Opera news to correct their wrongs which refusal will leave her with no other choice than to seek legal redress.

“I reserve the right to pursue appropriate legal remedies against SNA, Opera News, and any other parties involved in the publication and dissemination of these false and defamatory allegations.”

“To all other reckless media houses that may want to serve as willful conduits for spreading falsehoods aimed at tarnishing my enviable reputation, please be reminded that Iam firm in my dedication to the defence of my honour, and I will diligently pursue every legal option at my disposal to safeguard my rights and interests.”
