Election aftermath crucial to nation building – Anglican Bishop

The Anglican Bishop of Koforidua, The Right Rev. Felix Odei Annancy, says the aftermath of general elections is a critical period that requires the steadfast commitment to peace.

Regardless of the December 7 elections outcome, he said the action of Ghanaians should reflect the fruits of the God’s spirit to enable the country strive ahead in unity.

Speaking on the theme ‘Doing God’s work God’s way’, at the third session of the 14th Synod of the Anglican Diocese of Koforidua at Larteh Akuapim in the Eastern Region, The Right Rev Annancy called on christians to be ambassadors of reconciliation by promoting unity and healing in communities.

On the economy, the Right Rev. Annancy said despite the apparent growth in the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), the benefits have not been distributed equitably among the citizenry.

According to him, a significant portion of the population still struggle to access basic necessities which has widening the gap between the privileged few and the struggling majority.
