‘Hands Off Our Hotels’ demo is politically motivated – Sly Tetteh

Member of Parliament for Bortianor Ngleshie Amanfro, Sylvester Tetteh, has dismissed the “Hands Off Our Hotels” demonstration, describing it as politically motivated.

Speaking on Good Morning Ghana on Metro TV, Tetteh questioned the purpose of the street protest, citing that a petition has already been filed and is being investigated.

“If they feel that the process is not being fair, they’ve made a petition and the process is ongoing for investigation, so what are they doing on the street?” Tetteh asked.

“To the extent that they are bringing the Vice President into all this matter, it is more politically motivated than looking for a solution. You are in CHRAJ, you have given the matter to CHRAJ for investigations, why are you on the street?”

His comments come after Rockson Nelson Dafeamekpor rallied behind the protest which aims to get President Akufo-Addo to halt the sale of the SSNIT hotels to Agriculture Minister, Bryan Acheampong.

The debate over the sale of state-owned hotels continues to simmer, with protesters and opposition lawmakers on one side and government officials on the other.
