The Minister for Information, Honourable Fatimatu Abubakar has submitted the 2023 annual report on the
implementation of the Right to Information (RTI) Act 2019, Act 989 to Parliament earlier today.
The report highlights the gains made, progress, and challenges with the implementation so far.
Commenting on the report, legislators from both sides of the house were full of commendations for the Minister for complying with the parliamentary obligation.
Since its implementation, the RTI law has empowered citizens’ participation in governance and promoted transparency and accountability in governance.
