Veteran music producer Kwame Mickey and music group Team Eternity Ghana (TEG) have announced an amicable resolution to the issue surrounding the use of a portion of the existing song “Defe Defe” in their new song of the same title.
The parties in a statement issued on Monday, July 1, disclosed that they have entered into a Licence Agreement granting TEG the non-exclusive right to use the new song, including words derived from the existing song.
The agreement brings an end to the dispute that had arisen in the gospel music industry.
The parties expressed gratitude to all those who helped them reach the amicable resolution.
The agreement was signed by Mickey Kwame and witnessed by Debrich Jeremiah Acheampong in Germany on Monday, July 1, 2024.
The development is expected to pave the way for the continued production and promotion of gospel music in Ghana and beyond.
