Let’s not build the music ecosystem around one person — Kobby Kyei

Popular Ghanaian blogger, Kobby Kyei, has called on Ghanaian musicians to collaborate to help build their brands and following worldwide.

According to him, “If Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, and Stonebwoy collaborate and do a concert, with their heavy weight, it will be a huge success.”

Speaking on the issue of support, Kobby Kyei, christened Augustus Koranteng Kyei,  recounts how many artistes struggle to get the Ghanaians living in the diaspora to come out of their homes and represent the Ghanaian music culture.

“Nigerians on the contrary come out in their numbers to make the concerts of their music artists lively and successful,” Kobby Kyei told Original TV’s Akosua Boahemaa.

Ghanaian musicians are self-centered and usually adopt the “pull-down syndrome” to frustrate promising talents they see as threat to their career.

This attitude is not peculiar to the music industry but across all sectors as well.
