Mother of late Mfantseman MP, Ekow Quansah Hayford, passes on

Madam Mena Aba Atta, mother of the late Member of Parliament for Mfantseman Constituency, Ekow Quansah Hayford, has passed away aged 83.

According to family sources, Madam Atta died on Sunday, June 23, at the Mercy Women’s Hospital in Mankessim, after battling undisclosed ailment.

The late Ekow Quansah Hayford, who was the New Patriotic Party representative in the seventh Parliament of the Fourth Republic, was her only child.

He was tragically shot dead by unknown assailants on October 9.

Speaking to Metro TV, Wofa Yaw, a former constituency 1st vice chairman, spoke highly of the daughter in-law of the late Madam Aba Atta, Ophelia Quansah Hayford, who is currently the Mfantseman MP.

Describing her as a kind and supportive person, Wofa Yaw said she helped her late husband’s mother throughout her sickness and appealed for financial support from well-wishers to help bury her.
