NAPO not fit for Bawumia’s running mate – Appiah-Kubi

Member of Parliament for Asante Akim North, Andy Appiah-Kubi, has expressed his disapproval of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh as the running mate for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

According to Appiah-Kubi, Dr. Opoku Prempeh is not the right choice to partner with Dr. Bawumia in the upcoming 2024 general elections.

He argued that the Energy Minister is not acceptable to the entirety of the NPP base, particularly MPs, and lacks the ability to campaign effectively in many constituencies.

Appiah-Kubi suggested that the party should find someone more acceptable to parliamentarians, who can work closely with MPs and campaign in their constituencies.

This development comes after Dr. Bawumia presented Dr. Opoku Prempeh’s name to President Akufo-Addo as his preferred running mate on Tuesday night.

Meanwhile, there has been no official announcement of Opoku Prempeh as the running mate to Dr. Bawumia.
