NDC suspends Central Region chairman, Assin Central secretary over anti-party conduct

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has suspended its Central Regional Chairman, Prof Richard Kofi Asiedu, and Assin Central Constituency Secretary, Sadique Broni Yeboah, for one month over alleged anti-party conduct.

The decision was taken after a meeting between the party’s national executives, the Functional Executive Committee (FEC), and Assin Central executives.

The meeting centered on the withdrawal of Nurein Shiabu Migyimah as the party’s Assin Central parliamentary candidate due to allegations of immoral acts and anti-party activities.

However, the NDC’s General Secretary, Fifi Kwetey, later nullified the decision, stating that Migyimah remains the party’s parliamentary candidate for Assin Central in the upcoming general elections in December 2024.

The suspension of the two executives is seen as a move to enforce discipline within the party ahead of the elections.
