Parliament must take bold decision to support MPs – Annoh-Dompreh

The Majority Chief Whip and Member of Parliament (MP) for Nsawam-Adoagyiri Constituency, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, has expressed surprise at the constant criticism Parliament receives whenever it attempts to do something beneficial for its members.

According to him, it is time for Parliament to take a bold decision and establish a scheme to support members when they leave office.

Dompreh, who is also the Chairman of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Foreign Affairs, emphasized the need for a comprehensive package to cater to the welfare of MPs after their tenure in office.

He made the call on the floor of Parliament on Friday, June 28, 2024, stressing that the scheme would help alleviate the challenges faced by former MPs.

The Majority Chief Whip is a recipient of the Most Impactful Member of Parliament award at the 2021 Ghana-Nigeria Achievers Awards and has been recognized for his efforts in education and youth empowerment.
