Parliament sets up committee to develop pension scheme for members

The Parliament of Ghana has constituted a seven-member ad-hoc committee to develop a comprehensive pension scheme for its members.

The scheme aims to provide financial support for Members of Parliament (MPs) when they exit the legislature, enabling them to maintain a decent standard of living.

The committee, composed of experienced MPs, is tasked with designing a befitting pension scheme to cushion the impact of losing elections.

The members of the committee are:

1. Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu
2. Frank Annoh-Dompreh
3. Andy Appiah-Kubi
4. Kwame Agbodza Governs
5. Benjamin Komla Kpodo
6. Bernard Ahiafor
7. Cletus Avokah

The committee is expected to work diligently to ensure a robust pension scheme for MPs, reflecting their dedication and service to the nation.
