Residents of Mpatasie and surrounding communities protest deplorable road

Residents of Mpatasie, Akrofro, Perpase, Domeabra, Kotaa, Ademera, and surrounding communities in the Berekum East Municipal of the Bono Region have expressed their frustration with the deplorable state of their road, declaring it unusable.

According to Nana Diawuo Sakraka, Twafourhene of Mpatasie, the communities have vowed not to allow any politicians or Electoral Commission officials to transport ballot boxes through Mpatasie to nearby communities during the December 7 general elections.

The residents’ frustration and call for improved roads are understandable, as good roads are essential for development and connectivity.

Ghana’s road network has faced challenges, with many roads in deplorable conditions. This has led to difficulties for commuters, motorists, and farmers, affecting economic activities and daily life.

The government has initiated efforts to improve road infrastructure, but more work is needed to address the widespread issue.
