Shops in Accra to close for Homowo clean-up exercise today

The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) has announced a city-wide clean-up exercise, dubbed “Homowo clean-up exercise”, to take place today, July 2, 2024, from 6:00 am to noon.

The exercise will cover areas in Ga Mashie, including Sempe, Gbese, Abloa, Asere, and Dogo Beach.

According to the AMA, all shops and businesses are required to remain closed on the designated clean-up date, except for pharmaceutical and health facilities.

The clean-up activities have been zoned into six areas, covering the entire region, with Zone 1 comprising areas within the AMA and three sister Assemblies.

The AMA urged all stakeholders to participate fully in the exercise to ensure its success.
