UGMC performs six successful kidney transplant surgeries

The University of Ghana Medical Centre Ltd (UGMC) has completed its first six kidney transplant surgeries.

A statement issued by the medical centre on Sunday night announced that the surgeries were performed by a team of local and foreign medical experts with utmost precision, care, and expertise.

According to Dr. Emmanuel Asante, Head of Urology at UGMC, the procedures were seamless, showcasing the centre’s capabilities in complex surgical interventions and post-operative care.

Dr. Kwame Anim Boamah, Chief Executive Officer of UGMC, said the successful completion of the first set of six kidney transplants demonstrates the centre’s commitment to medical excellence and improving patients’ lives through cutting-edge interventions and compassionate care.
