The 2023 edition of the 3Music Awards has been called off.
Organized yearly with the aim of awarding excellence, creativity, hard work, and consistency, 3Media Network, the organizers of the prestigious awards in a statement on Wednesday, July 26, said the awards will not take place due to financial crisis and inadequate sponsorship.
According to them, having the necessary backing will make it easier to produce an event that meets the unmatched standard of excellence that has distinguished the 3Music Awards over the years.
“The 3Music Awards has garnered immense recognition as a premier celebration of musical talent, captivating audiences, and enthusiasts alike. As a testament to our unwavering commitment to excellence, we believe that rescheduling the event to 2024 will ensure that the 3Music Awards remains an unrivalled experience within the industry,” the statement noted..
The organizers promised to bounce back next year.
“While we acknowledge the disappointment this may bring, we want to assure all our stakeholders – industry partners, sponsors, artists, and fans – that we are actively working behind the scenes to secure the necessary support,” the statement added.
The 3Media Network further pleaded with the general public to pardon them for any inconvenience this drastic measure may have caused and believe that 2024 is a better year.
“Together, we will overcome this temporary setback and emerge stronger, delivering an extraordinary 3Music Awards experience that celebrates the very best of our industry,” 3Music Network noted.
