Agyendam will be better off without Asebu Paramountcy – Destooled Gyasehene

The former Gyasehene of the Bebia, Nana Kwadwo Benyin XIII, says he is unperturbed about his destoolment.

The Paramount Chief for the Asebu Traditional Area, Okatakyi Dr. Amenfi VII destooled Nana Kwadwo Benyin XIII from his stool with immediate effect over insubordination.

The destooled chief reluctantly declined the paramountcy’s series of summons to him over complaints of him parading himself as Chief of Agidam.

Okatakyi Amenfi entreated all and sundry to disassociate themselves from engaging the Gyasehene to buy lands for he has been destooled, with the Bebia Gyasi stool currently abolished.

“Whoever contacts the destooled chief over the acquisition of land at either Agidam or Bebia does so at his own risk,” he cautioned.

But in response to his announced destoolment, Nana Kwadwo Benyin XIII stated that every clan in the Fante Kingdom stands independent, with the explanation that Agidam, as highlighted by the Paramount Chief emerged as a stool land to his clan which was ruled upon by his forefathers.

He told Metro TV if he is of no relevance to the Asebu Traditional Paramountcy, he will soon decide which paramountcy he will have his community pay allegiance to.
