Akufo-Addo refutes attempt to rig Ejisu by-election

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has denied allegations of rigging in the upcoming Ejisu by-election, dismissing claims by former NPP MP Kwabena Owusu Aduomi as “false” and “unfounded”.

Aduomi had alleged that the government and Electoral Commission were conspiring to favor NPP candidate Kwabena Boateng. However, Akufo-Addo countered by asking if the party had rigged the process for Aduomi during his time as MP.

The president suggested that Aduomi’s allegations stem from his own realization that he cannot win the election, and advised him to stop spreading lies against the party.

Aduomi, a three-time Ejisu MP, had claimed that a plot was underway to rig the by-election in favor of the NPP candidate. However, Akufo-Addo’s rebuttal has dismissed these claims as baseless.
