Assin Central NDC invokes curses over voter transfer suspicions

The Assin Central branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has invoked curses on officials of the Electoral Commission (EC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Assin Central, Godfred Nti Anewu, over suspicions of busing non-residents to transfer their votes to the constituency.

According to the NDC, they have reliable information about the connivance of the EC and the NPP to transfer votes of non-resident voters from neighboring constituencies, including Kasoa, to Assin Central.

Angry NDC members slaughtered a sheep and poured libation, invoking deities such as Antoa Nyama and Betinsin to deal with anyone who attempts to rig the December 7 general elections in Assin Central.

Abdoni Emmanuel, Assin Central NDC Communications Officer, cautioned the NPP leadership to desist from busing foreigners to vote in Assin Central or face their wrath.

The party vowed to prevent any attempt at gerrymandering and cautioned the EC against connivance.

However, Godfred Nti Anewu, Assin Central NPP candidate, denied the allegations in a telephone conversation with Metro News.
