Bawumia To Commission 2 Astro Turfs In Koforidua On August 7

The Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, is expected to commission two astro turfs in the Eastern Regional capital of Koforidua.

The commissioning ceremony will take place during the Vice President’s tour of the region on August 7.

The projects are in various phases of completion and are located at Koforidua Betom, Nyamekrom, Adweso, and Sarkodie.

He will also inspect the progress of work on the Nyamekrom Polyclinic and commission a modern police post at the Koforidua Technical University.


After assessing the state of construction at various project sites, the MP told Afeema Radio that the projects will provide relief to Koforidua citizens.

“I believe these projects would be another masterstroke, in fact, it is going to generate revenue, harness talents, and boost the local economy.”

“When these projects are commissioned plans are far advanced to add another one which would be situated at Koforidua Zongo, we want to make our tenure memorable and worthwhile, with all these archived just under my two years in office as the Member of Parliament “, he added.


He emphasized the value of artificial turf in promoting sports and relaxation and its ability to discover youthful talent.

The MP further stressed how completing these projects would improve the municipality’s visibility and reputation.
