Christian leaders urged to avoid wild prophecies ahead of 2024 elections

The Founder of Lift Up God Church, Rev. Yaw Osei, has cautioned Christian leaders against making what he described as “wild prophecies” about the outcome of the 2024 general elections, warning that it could inflame political passions and lead to chaos.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony of the Lift Up God Bible Institute, Rev. Osei urged Christian leaders to desist from predicting which political party will win the elections, as it creates anxiety among followers and can lead to unrest. Instead, he admonished them to preach the message of peace and unity.

Rev. Osei also emphasized the need for proper training of church leaders to protect and preserve the basic foundation and principles of the Christian faith, warning against adulterating the gospel.

The graduation ceremony saw 11 students graduate from the Lift Up God Bible Institute, which trains church leaders. Rev. Osei’s caution comes as Ghana prepares for the 2024 general elections, with political tensions already rising.

By urging Christian leaders to avoid making wild prophecies, Rev. Osei seeks to promote peace and stability in the country, and ensure that the electoral process is free from religious manipulation.
