Dr. David King Boison Assumes Role as Senior Research Fellow at CIMAG

The Centre for International Maritime Affairs, Ghana (CIMAG), has warmly welcomed Dr. David King Boison as a Senior Research Fellow.

In his distinguished career, Dr. Boison has been a consultant, Senior lecturer, and Head of the Department for Procurement, Logistics, and Supply Chain Management at Ghana Communication and Technology University.

His previous role as an IT Manager at the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) adds to his impressive credentials.

Dr. Boison, now leading the Department for Procurement Logistics and Supply Chain Management at the Business School of Ghana Communication and Technology University, has played a pivotal role in molding future technology leaders. His consultancy work has spearheaded advancements in business process remodeling, strategic planning, digitization, and IT project execution.

With a solid foundation in IT, corporate strategy, and supply chain management, Dr. Boison was at the forefront of process improvement and automation at GPHA. His expertise encompasses optimization, simulation, big data analytics, and he notably developed and implemented the e-port system (now known as the paperless port system) at GHPA. Furthermore, Dr. Boison serves as the track chair of the Academy of Africa Business Development and holds chairmanships at the ethics review committees at the National Health Insurance Authority and the Ghana Institute of Freight Forwarders.

Dr. Boison’s academic achievements are equally remarkable, including a First Class Honors BBA in Accounting, MSc in Supply Management with Distinction, MSc in Management Information System with Distinction, and a Doctorate Degree in Business Administration, specializing in Supply Chain Management.

His appointment aligns with a crucial moment in maritime affairs, as 71% of the Earth’s surface is covered by water, and the maritime business community is key to international trade and business expansion. CIMAG, a non-partisan institution, focuses on leading policy reforms, research, and fostering cooperation within the maritime sector.

The thematic areas of CIMAG, encompassing Maritime Transportation, Maritime Security, Marine Environment, and more, resonate with Dr. Boison’s vast knowledge and experience, making him an ideal fit to contribute significantly to CIMAG’s mission and objectives.
