Eastern Regional Security Council bans Boadua Chief from attending any public ceremony

The Eastern Regional Security Council through the Regional Coordinating Council has communicated to the Chief of Boadua, Barima Akwesi Agyakwa, and Nana Afia Kyerewaa, the embattled queen mother to stop attending any public ceremony.

There has been some growing tension between the chief and the queen mother due to an undisclosed misunderstanding for about 4 years.

Berima Agyakwa destooled the queen mother after consultations with the council of elders and requested for replacement from the family.

The statement by the REGSEC follows intelligence that there could be clashes at an upcoming funeral rite in the town hence they’ve banned both functions from attending any public ceremony.

“In order to ensure peace, security, and public safety, REGSEC has directed that Barima Akwesi Agyakwa, and Nana Afia Kyerewaa, are banned from attending any of the ceremonies,” REGSEC explained in the statement.

“Any person or group of persons who will fail to abide by this directive will face full rigorous of the law,” the statement cautioned.

Meanwhile, the Chief of Bodua, Berima Akwesi Agyakwa has registered his dissatisfaction with the development and feels threatened by the directive.

According to him, the Regional Coordinating Council directive shows they want to destool him hence he will take the matter to court.
