Election 2024: Sam George pledges 100,000 votes for NDC in Ningo Prampram Constituency

Election 2024: Sam George pledges 100,000 votes for NDC in Ningo Prampram Constituency

Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram Constituency, Samuel Nettey George, has promised a resounding victory for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the general elections in 2024.

Sam George categorically stated that his constituency will deliver 100,000 votes to the main opposition party in the next elections.

In a build-up to the 2024 general elections, activities have spiked among the ruling and opposition parties to send messages for possible consideration by voters to win the elections.

The former president of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama made a stop at the Ningo Prampram constituency last week Friday to canvass for support to win the flagbearship race in the coming primaries.

Speaking on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana show on Tuesday 18th April 2023, the Ningo Prampram MP noted that the former president’s visit was timely and purposeful and that his message resonated with the constituents.

“It was lovely seeing President Mahama on the ground and it was a fantastic encounter with the delegates when he came. I think his message resonated with us,” he commented.

Sam George applauded Mr. Mahama for his visit to his constituency and stated that his constituency was committed to ensuring that he gets the needed support to see him become the next president-elect.

“And, the feedback from his message shows how galvanized the base is. I can speak for my constituency and I know that it is replicating across the country…and so I want to extend my sincere gratitude to President Mahama and his campaign team for the visit and like we have said, we would deliver a 100,000 votes in Ningo Prampram in 2024. ”

Meanwhile, the Member of Parliament for Ngleshie Amanfrom, Sylvester Tetteh ridiculed the assertion of Mr. George and alleged that his claim was ungrounded.

He asked the Ningo-Prampram MP to hold his bluff

“What is the total population now…what a joke?”

However, the Ningo-Prampram MP insisted that his constituency is the fastest-growing district in the country and therefore would not require a fist to execute his plans.

“When I told President Mahama…and I told him in the video….but I told him in 2020 that we are going to get 50,000 votes for him, [and] everybody laughed. People also said the same thing because they asked me what the voter population was. At that time the voter register was 66,000 but then I knew that there was going to be a registration process. Ningo Prampram is the fastest-growing district in the whole country. That’s where migration is happening.”

The NDC opened nominations for both presidential and parliamentary primaries on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, and closed it on Friday, February 24, 2023. The party however has announced May 13, 2023, to hold its presidential and parliamentary primaries.
