Fate of Addai-Nimoh, Boakye Agyarko to be decided by NPP’s National Council members

The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has reached an agreement that its National Council members will solely vote in the party’s September 2 run-off between Boakye Agyarko and Francis Addai-Nimoh to decide the fate of the two flagbearer hopefuls.

Following a tie for the 5th position after the August 26 election, there was some debate as to whether the party should permit all 961 of the super delegates to vote in the run-off.

However, the National Council after a meeting on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, concluded that the run-off should be held but only their members will decide the fate of the two flagbearer hopefuls.

The party says the decision was made to save time and money, and that it will be held in its headquarters in Asylum Down, Accra.
