Ghana Air Force helicopter makes emergency landing with 21 passengers onboard

In a dramatic turn of events, a Ghana Air Force helicopter, bearing registration number GHF 696, was forced to make an emergency landing today at approximately 12:30 hours within the vicinity of Bonsukrom near Agona Nkwanta in the Western Region.

According to statement from the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), copied to Metrotvonline, the helicopter, which was conducting routine offshore powerline inspection of the Atuabo gas plant, carried 21 passengers comprising staff of the Ghana National Gas Company and aircrew at the time of the incident.

Thankfully, amidst the tense situation, all passengers have been safely accounted for, and there have been no reported fatalities.

However, as a precautionary measure, the passengers have been evacuated and are currently undergoing routine medical evaluations.

Meanwhile, authorities have initiated preliminary assessments to determine the root cause of the emergency landing, emphasizing the importance of ensuring the safety and security of all air operations within the region.
