Gunmen attack bullion van at Ablekuma; kill police officer

Some four-armed thieves attacked a bullion van on Thursday afternoon at the Star Oil Fuel Station next to the ECG office in Ablekuma Fanmilk.

According to an eyewitness, the gunmen driving a black car fled the scene shortly after the incident.

The police officers inside the van were the target of the robbers, who fired them twice, wounding them in the shoulder and abdomen.

Between the robbers and the on-duty police officers at the gas station, there were about 15 shots fired.

In the process, one police officer died.

Unfortunately, the thieves were able to flee with the loot. Everyone is baffled by the fact that the incident took place while all the cameras were offline for maintenance.

The bullion van driver’s current whereabouts is unclear.

Meanwhile, the remains of the police officer has been deposited at the Weija Municipal Hospital’s morgue.
