The Director of Communications at the Presidency, Mr Eugene Arhin, has stated that he would send the current Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya West, Hon Gizella Tetteh-Agbotui, packing on December 7, 2024.
He made this assertion on Wednesday at Beraku in the Awutu Senya West Constituency when he filed his nomination forms to contest for the seat on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Mr Arhin however, noted that he can’t do it alone so he entreated the hundreds of party members who had come to support him to propagate the good news of the NPP.
On the upcoming parliamentary primaries, he appealed to the delegates to give him 95% of the votes, saying he likes nothing less than that.
He also admonished his supporters to refrain from dirty campaign that can tarnish the image of the other aspirant or his supporters, claiming it will take the effort of all party members to recapture the seat from the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
His lead man for the occasion, Rev Abeiku Okai, reinforced the ability of Mr Arhin to oust the sitting MP as he explained why the head of Communications at the Jubilee House is the right man for the job.
Explaining why he is convinced the President’s Chief Communicator is the right person to represent the people of Awurtu Senya West in Parliament he said, “Eugene Arhin gets things done.”
To this end, he said, he has built an ultramodern library, office accommodation for Senya District Police Command, a three-unit classroom block and lobbied for the construction of two major roads in the constituency, amongst other projects.
Rev Okai also described Mr Arhin as the people’s choice, saying, “Almost everyone who gets to know Eugene Arhin likes him because he is opened and trustworthy.”
He went on to say that, they are following Mr Athin because he is that type of leader who represents the interest of his followers.
“I am a pastor but I am proud to be a politician for the sake of Eugene because I know what he is doing for my people,” Rev Okai said.
Rev Okai also described Mr Arhin as a unifier who draws everyone closer to him, adding that he has made himself accessible to all.
