Kwadaso MP, Dr. Kingsley Nyarko, has nullified all claims that Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has promised him a position as a minister if he wins the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries and subsequently becomes the President of Ghana.
Dr. Nyarko said he is privy to the rumors being circulated about him being ungrateful to Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto; the Former Minister for Agriculture, after he was captured on video declaring his stand and support for the Vice President.
Speaking on Good Morning Ghana on Metro TV, Dr. Kingsley Nyarko stated categorically that the former Agric Minister indeed supported him.
“He offered his unflinching support for me and I’m grateful to him and I have never stood anywhere to deny that. It’s public knowledge. Those who are behind the story know that I’ve always been grateful to him,” he said on Thursday, July 13, 2023.
“I have been working with the Former Minister since 2011. There was not a single day or an instance that he hinted to me that he has a presidential ambition,” Dr. Nyarko revealed.
Despite the raging rumors, the Kwadaso MP has reassured that he has no ill motives about the ambitions of Dr. Owusu Akoto and wishes him the best in the primaries.
He expressed that “At a point in time as a human being, you need to make a decision and the decision you’re making will not be prejudiced against somebody”.
He reiterated that Dr. Bawumia has never promised him any ministerial position in exchange for his support, stating that the Vice President can win the NPP presidential primaries because he is the right person for the job.
