Kennedy Agyapong never paid Ahmed Suale’s school fees – Family

The family of the late investigative journalist, Ahmed Hussein Suale, has refuted claims by Kennedy Agyapong that he provided financial assistance to the slain journalist.

According to the family, the outspoken Assin Central Constituency lawmaker’s claim is preposterous and it is unreservedly false that he paid the late journalist’s school fees.

“We are saddened by the comments and wish to state unequivocal that Kennedy Agyapong has never paid any school fees for our late son and brother. We dare him to produce any evidence to that effect,” the family said in a statement.

Issued on February 1, the family accused Mr. Agyapong of instigating the attack and subsequent murder of the undercover journalist.

“What we, and, the world, know is the fact, that Kennedy Agyapong published the identity of our late brother on his Net 2 TV and further asked his thugs to harm him whenever they see him which eventually resulted in the gruesome murder of our brother and son. He should henceforth desist from using [the] name of our brother for political millage,” the family said.

“We, therefore, call on all well-meaning Ghanaians and the entire world to treat his mischievous comments with the contempt it deserve,” the statement added.

Ahmed Hussein Suale, a Tiger Eye Private Investigations employee, was murdered in his vehicle by an unknown assailant on January 16, 2019, in Madina.

He was part of a team of undercover journalists led by renowned investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

He was shot three times, twice in the chest and another in the neck late Wednesday night at Madina in Accra while he was driving home by unidentified men.

The murder occurred shortly after the documentary Number 12 was released. It also came after the Assin Central MP incited the mob to attack the journalist on live television.

It has since remained unresolved, despite the government’s pledge to continue seeking justice for Mr. Suale.
