Political scientist Dr. Asa Kwame Asante has expressed confidence in the readiness of the NDC running mate, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, to take on the challenges of the vice presidency.

In an interview with Metro TV, Dr. Asante praised Professor Opoku-Agyemang’s experience and maturity, citing her achievements as a former Minister of Education and Vice Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast, (UCC).

Dr. Asante believes that Professor Opoku-Agyemang has demonstrated her ability to lead and has a clear vision for the country. He highlighted her commitment to probity and accountability, as well as her plans to address issues such as ethnicity, energy, and women’s empowerment. Dr. Asante also commended the pairing of John Mahama and Professor Opoku-Agyemang, stating that they bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the table.

“The pair of John Mahama and Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang is nothing but the best that could come from anywhere. John has seen it all in terms of political experience, and Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has also gathered some experience, so if the two jell and they want to administer the governance of the state, why not?” Dr. Asante said.

He urged the NDC to manage its resources effectively to ensure victory in the December 7 elections, expressing optimism that the party’s ticket is the best option for Ghana. With Professor Opoku-Agyemang’s impressive track record and John Mahama’s political experience, Dr. Asante believes that the NDC has a winning formula.

“It’s left with the electorates to decide. But for me, I don’t see this ticket as anything that’s not worthy. It’s the best that happens to the NDC. It’s for the party to manage its resources well for victory in December 7 elections,” Dr. Asante added.
